Whether short term or long term plans, each one of us has them. Do they include God’s plans?

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. NLT

The word ‘plan’ is the Hebrew word machashabah meaning thought, purpose, invention. God is the great inventor! He invented us, our lives and our purpose. He knitted our lives so perfectly to use each one of us to work for His Kingdom and achieve His ultimate purpose. Our purpose achieves His glory. God knows our plans even before we do. The familiar words to the OUR FATHER include “Thy will be done.” Do we really mean it? What is His will for our lives? Do we seek His will and love His will to carry out His plans?

Proverbs 16:1-9,20

1 We can make our own plans,
but the Lord gives the right answer.

People may be pure in their own eyes,
but the Lord examines their motives.

Commit your actions to the Lord,
and your plans will succeed.

The Lord has made everything for his own purposes,
even the wicked for a day of disaster.

The Lord detests the proud;
they will surely be punished.

Unfailing love and faithfulness make atonement for sin.
By fearing the Lord, people avoid evil.

When people’s lives please the Lord,
even their enemies are at peace with them.

Better to have little, with godliness,
than to be rich and dishonest.

We can make our plans,
but the Lord determines our steps.

20 Those who listen to instruction will prosper;
those who trust the Lord will be joyful.

Pastor Ray told us Sunday, “What’s wrong with God pushing us through life?” Let God give us wisdom to make decisions with the plans we make. Use the Word of God to make sure our plans are in line with His. Are our plans filled with love? Do they include spreading the Gospel?   Be obedient in fulfilling our destiny for God’s purposes.

Let’s fulfill our destiny.
