“Daddy, let’s go swimming!” The boys captured Daddy’s attention on Father’s Day making him smile. He makes a point to do something with the kids on Father’s Day. Ironically, he also makes a point to do something with the kids on Mother’s Day to give Mommy a break. He’s Superdad! While he may not be “faster than a speeding bullet or more powerful than a locomotive” he still possesses extraordinary powers only because of his own Heavenly Father.
The Wisdom of God
1 Corinthians 1:18 The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
1 Corinthians1:19 As the Scriptures say,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise
and discard the intelligence of the intelligent.”
1 Corinthians 1:20 So where does this leave the philosophers, the scholars, and the world’s brilliant debaters? God has made the wisdom of this world look foolish.
1 Corinthians 1:21 Since God in his wisdom saw to it that the world would never know him through human wisdom, he has used our foolish preaching to save those who believe.
1 Corinthians 1:22 It is foolish to the Jews, who ask for signs from heaven. And it is foolish to the Greeks, who seek human wisdom.
1 Corinthians 1:23 So when we preach that Christ was crucified, the Jews are offended and the Gentiles say it’s all nonsense.
1 Corinthians 1:24 But to those called by God to salvation, both Jews and Gentiles, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.

CHRIST is the POWER of GOD! I reread verse 24 over and over. CHRIST is the POWER of GOD! The power of God came from God to save. His power came down and lived among us. Human wisdom alone will never compare to the awesome power available through Christ.
I claim Philippians 3:10 as my own, “I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection” (NIV)
I want to experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. Everything about Christ is God’s power. After accepting Christ as my personal savior, I know by faith HIS POWER lives in me. Now…how do I channel that HUGE SUPER POWER? Hearing and studying the Word of God at church, in small groups or by myself are the only ways to learn more about the Super Power. Praying and asking for help and wisdom will release the power of God in my life.
1 Corinthians 4:20 For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power. (NLT)
