Jesus blood gives life
Our blood gives life to our bodies. The red blood cells in us carry oxygen to all the parts of our bodies. Without the blood carrying those cells to all the parts of the body we would die. The blood alone cannot keep the body alive. The cells that the blood carries provide vital functions to us.
Going back to Christ’s blood. If Christ had shed His blood (His life) on the cross, was buried, but was not raised on the third day, there would be no conquering of death and we’d all be dead, spiritually speaking.
1 Corinthians 15:19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied.
If all we had was the life of Christ and there was no resurrection, we would become a deluded bunch of people who are hoping in a Lord that cannot provide an abundant life here and an eternal life to come.
But that’s not what happened!
1 Corinthians 15:20-22 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.
Christ’s shed blood that covers our sins coupled with His resurrection means that His blood is still alive! Where the blood of the animals only provided for that instant, Christ’s blood continuously provides life for those that respond to Him!!!
Christ’s shed blood never loses it’s power! It lives on in us and through us as we minister to others. Through the resurrection we have an abundant life, one that is truly alive and vibrant that will lead into an eternal life of praising, worshiping, and serving Him!!!
There is a burden we all carry as a result of this. If we are truly alive as a result of Christ shed blood covering our sins and His resurrection, then those that don’t know Him are not truly alive. They are not just living sinful, they aren’t living!
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death
One day they will pay their wages with their death – and not just the physical death but the realization that they are eternally separated from their Heavenly Father, which is truly what hell is. Our burden is to spread His life to those that will accept it! It’s comfy keeping it here at BNC, but the problem is that it only stays here. His life is meant to be shared so that they too will experience what you and I have!
